The XA was the first fully Australian designed and manufactured Ford. Although a substantial achievement, it wasn’t without its teething issues. The engine and running gear was generally solid, but the body shell was known to rust quite easily and not keep water out.

Water entering in between door and rusting out locking mechanisms and window winding mechanisms
Leaking around the firewall
