The EF Falcon, released in August 1994, replaced the popular ED Falcon.
It was a complete cosmetic makeover from the previous model and was the most visually changed of any of the E-Series Falcons. It featured rounder and sleeker styling, making it appear much smaller than it actually was. The only exterior parts that were carried over from the ED were the doors. Many would think that the EF was a completely new Falcon model, however it was built on the same wheelbase and featured the same running gear (with a number of minor revisions and improvements) to the ED Falcon.
The inline 6 engine available with the EF had a number of refinements made to it. The EF featured an efficient and powerful 6 cylinder engine, able to produced 157kW with relatively low fuel consumption. A solid engine which earned it great praise for Fords engineering team. It is worth noting that the V8 on offer at the same time with the EF was producing 165kW, not a bad number but not much more than the inline 6.
Transmissions on offer were a 4 speed Automatic and a 5 speed manual, both mounted on the floor.
Like all the other E-Series Falcons, it was only available as a sedan and a wagon, no Ute or panel van was offered. On offer at the same time however was the XH Ute and panel van which had a from end which looked very much like an EF.
Manufacture of the EF lasted until October 1996 when it was replaced by the EL, after a production run of over 192 000 examples. Prices for the EF started at $27 035
