AU Falcon<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AU Falcon was in production for 4 years from 1988 \u2013 2002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AU was about 35kg lighter than the EL yet had a\nsignificantly stronger structure<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Design work for the AU Falcon is said to have started in\n1994<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The development for the AU Falcon is said to have cost\naround $700 million<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AU was available with 5 engine options, 2 petrol 6\ncylinder, an LPG 6 cylinder and 2 petrol V8\u2019s<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AU had its own utility range,  something that wasn\u2019t seen with the e-series\nFalcons  and hadn\u2019t been seen since the\nXF<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3 AU T3 TL 50\u2019s were produced. They are perhaps the rarest\nFords ever built in Australia<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the fact that there were 2 revisions to the AU\nwhile it was on the market, they were solid performing cars that survives\nsurprisingly well in accidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the bonnet the AU Falcon was a very competitive and\nadvanced car for its time, unfortunately the car took a lot of criticism for\nits styling, it is believed that if the BA styling had been used in 1998\ninstead of the AU it could have been one of the best selling Australian cars of\nall time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
